Da Vinci Mako

Oklahoma Surgical Hospital now offers a range of minimally invasive surgical procedures using robotic technology. Our surgeons are trained with the latest surgical robotic equipment which allows them to perform many complex procedures with greater precision, flexibility and control than standard surgical techniques. These techniques use tiny incisions and miniature robotic instruments which allow our surgeons to perform delicate and complex procedures that may otherwise have been difficult or impossible. The benefits of this new technology means you may lose less blood, suffer less pain, have smaller scars and need only a short hospital stay. All of this adds up to a quicker recover than if you had traditional surgery.

OSH uses the da Vinci® Surgical System which is a state-of-the-art surgical platform with 3D, high-definition vision and patented surgical instruments that takes surgery beyond the limits of the human hand. The da Vinci System can be used to help patients needing urologic, gynecologic, colorectal and general surgery procedures.

OSH also utilizes Mako® Robotic-Arm Assisted Technology. Partial Knee Resurfacing is available for patients suffering with early to mid-stage osteoarthritis (OA) of the knee and Total Knee Replacement is available for patients with mid to late-stage osteoarthritis of the knee. Mako Robotic-Arm Assisted Technology allows enhanced clinical planning, precise implant positioning and better protects the essential  anatomical structures of the knee including the PCL and the popliteal artery.  This technology gives the surgeon better ability to repair only the diseased portion of the knee and spares the patient’s healthy bone and surrounding tissue.
